Uasin Gishu is County number 27 made up of six constituencies (sub-counties) and 30 wards where most of the elective positions were won by the dominant party United Democratic Alliance (UDA). Some of the independent candidates however were aspirants from UDA but did not get nominated and opted to run independently.
