Throw a stone at any crowd in Eldoret and chances are you’ll hit a DJ, photographer, event promoter, dancer or a model. While we certainly aren’t short of creatives, we lack much in the stage performance front. The thing is, we do have actors, spoken word artists, poets, graffiti artists and the likes, but just like the other creatives, they lack a credible digital footprint that makes it easier to find out about who they are, what they do and where to find them.
But, that’s why platforms like Eldoret Leo exists; to give you exposure and push your brand online. With that said, I caught up with the Trinity Ensemble group producer and here’s what transpired;
Who are The Trinity Ensemble?
The Trinity Ensemble is a theater group based in Eldoret. We do live stage performance(plays), spoken words, poetry, and music. We have been doing this work from August 2016 as a group, but most of our cast are experienced in the field.

There has not been much going on in performance acts in Eldoret, why is that?
This kind of art has not got enough root in town because of less awareness of stage performance acts. People here are more in athletics because it’s all they know.. The county government should give a hall for free where every artist can be doing rehearsals and doing our events.
The county government should recognize groups that are serious about their work and give them county jobs during public holidays to perform or any other event and in return pay their service well. This will motivate artists; most artists are on streets doing different things, yet their call was in art industry!

Your previous play “The pumpkin and the soup” was a great success, are there more plays to come?
We are doing monthly plays we have no intention of making a stop any soon. We want to make it bigger and better and also involve renowned national thespians in our events.
Our next play is Painful Tears on 26th November 2016, at T. A. C Centre from 2-5PM. People should expect National standard play fused with humor. Deep insight on poetry that speaks to us, music and spoken word incorporated with inspiration that affects our daily life as youths and adults.

So there you have it, guys. If you love stage plays and poetry, you should show your support for Trinity Ensemble by going to their next event this weekend, 26th November 2016 at T.A.C Centre. Get all the details on the poster below.
