Star Chase alias Biwott Patrick is a finalist on the SGR Photo Competition. This was announced on the 16th March 2017 where he made the cut to be one of the 25 whose submissions were considered worthy of the competition.
The SGRÂ photography competition is an initiative of the China Roads and Bridges Corporation (CRBC) and is on its second run after having completed the 2015 edition successfully.
Other than rewarding and celebrating talent in the field of photography, the competition gives the participants a chance to present the remarkable and transformative SGR story and also provide a platform to engage the Kenyan public and other key stakeholders
The Competition
The 25 finalists will embark on a 5 day tour of the SGR on the Mombasa – Nairobi segment. Each day they will be given a theme for which they will submit their shots.
WinningsÂ
Winners of the competition will walk away with 1st Position 400,000, 2nd Position 200,000 and 3rd position 100,000 Kenyan Shillings.
There will also be 7 other categories, winners in these categories will take home a prize money of 50,000 Kenyan shillings plus certificates of participation.
Public Participation
The public will have a chance to participate through online voting. The winner in this category will take home the People’s Choice Award.
Winners will be announced on the 7th of April 2017 in Nairobi.
