Kenyan Beauty Queen Sharon Kosgey Launches SK Modelling Academy in Eldoret

Sharon Kosgey of SK Modelling Academy

Sharon Kosgey, a professional, commercial (casual/lifestyle/lingerie/swimwear) and fashion runway model earlier this week launched her modelling school dubbed SK Modelling Academy here in Eldoret.

Sharon Kosgey’s short hair signature look gives her an impish beauty which is one of her strong suits in the fashion industry

When contacted by Eldoret Leo about the venture, Sharon said “I have been receiving messages on Facebook and Instagram, of people asking for help to become models or how I can help them be a success in the fashion industry. I also realized, that there are lots of models who have potential but lack proper training. These are the main reasons why I thought of starting up the academy rather than agency… with time, I might venture into making it an agency.”

Banking on Experience

The 5ft 9in darksome model has always brought an alluring exoticism to the fashion industry both as a runway model and a glamour girl. Her dedication, chick looks, and composure have seen her crowned as Miss Culture Moi University 2012, Miss Tourism Kenya Uasin Gishu County 2013/14 and recently she emerged the 1st runners up at Miss Universe Kenya 2016.

Furthermore, Sharon Kosgey has represented multiple brands including Itel Mobile, JW Show and Kitenge Fashion Fest among others. It is this experience that she hopes to use to offer value to upcoming models.

“My idea is to train and mentor models both male and female on all the aspects to deal with modelling. I’ll be working with a different bunch of models every month. After completion, I will still offer support by recommending them for advertising jobs or events.” She added.

What’s on Offer?

The SK Modelling Academy is located at Komora Centre and is open for both aspiring male and female models as well as special refresher courses for experienced models looking to jump back in the fold.

Sharon Kosgey has successfully participated in a number of pageants and represented multiple brands

Moreover, students at the academy will learn about high fashion, commercial modelling, runway, catalogue, glamour and pageantry.

So, are we still going to see Sharon Kosgey on the runway or is she laying low? When asked that question, this is what she had to say “Runway is my passion. It’s what gives me an adrenaline rush, So, I will still be on the runway.”
