Rupa's Mall: First of its Kind in the North Rift

Just like the Two Rivers Mall caused a stir in Kenyas Capital, Rupa’s Mall is set to do the same in the Capital of the North Rift. Many Eldoret dwellers and visitors alike have noticed the magnificent structure coming up along Uganda Road opposite Ken Knit. This is the Rupa’s Mall.

Visibly, Rupa’s Mall is a structure with a huge base and two multi storied towers on top. One tower will play host to a hotel that is expected to have over 100 rooms and the other tower to accommodate offices and business premises.

Rupa’s Mall occupies 8 Acres of land

The ground coverage of Rupa’s Mall is 8 acres. 3.5 acres of the 8 acres will be landscaped to become a recreational area. Part of the remaining land will be parking space on both sides of the mall that will take in over 500 vehicles.

The floor space of the mall is 35, 000 square meters a few thousand meters short of Mups Plaza’s 50,000 square feet. This space will host hotels, a supermarket, restaurants, offices, cinema theatre, children’s play area and water park as well as retail shops and service stores such as botiques, saloons, spas, babar shops etc. A renown player in the food and beverage industry Java is expected to be one of the occupants of Rupa’s Mall.

Aluminum Perforated Skin

A noteworthy feature of the mall is the yellowish exterior. This is the perforated aluminum skin. Behind this perforated skin is a specialized LED lighting that will be controlled to light up differently depending on the occasion and season.

Lifts and Escalators

Movement within the mall will be either by lifts or escalators. The escalators and water fountains are expected to be a major attraction as there is no other building in Eldoret Town that employs the use of such for convenience and beautification. Additional amenities are water reservoirs, standby generators and a perimeter wall with 24 hours surveillance to ensure smooth running of the malls operations.

Rupa’s Mall has been under construction for the past two years as the project began in 2015. The structure is now 85% complete and is set to open doors later in the year. September being the likely date for the launch.
