From the 1st of July 2017, all motor vehicles on Kenyan roads are to be fitted with a third license sticker. The third license sticker is expected to be embedded with an Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) microchip to facilitate wireless transfer of information between the sticker and mobile police readers.
The sticker will contain all overt and covert details of the vehicle which include but not limited to chassis number, the color, year of manufacture.
The sticker will be placed on the wind screen, removal or any form of tampering with the sticker will destroy it and therefore require a replacement. Application or replacement of the sticker will cost the motorist 700 shillings.
