So far Governor Jackson Mandago, County Assembly Speaker, David Kiplagat, Cheptiret-Kipchamo Ward MCA Gilbert Tenai and UDA Gubernatorial aspirant Jonathan Bii Chelilim have been summoned by the DCI in Nakuru over Militia training allegations. The three politicians were summoned following intelligence report revealing that they are actively sponsoring, arming, and/or training a group of militia at the Agricultural Training Center (ATC) in Eldoret.
These reports are coming barely a week after NCIC released another report that listed Uasin Gishu among six likely counties to experience post election violence.
Speaking to a group of journalists after a six hour grilling session “Our competitors are feeding the DCI with wrong information about a militia and we are not part of any of that, ATC is an agricultural centre and in no way it is being used for training militia,” said Mandago on the 6th of June 2022.
Earlier today, UDA Gubernatorial aspirant Jonathan Bii Chelilim was also grilled over the same accusations by the DCI in Nakuru. Koti moja as he is famously known presented himself to the DCI after he requested to be allowed to present his papers to IEBC on Monday.
All the politicians mentioned have been heard in numerous occasions preaching peace, it comes as a surprise that the same politicians are mentioned in plans to undermine the same peace.
