The second edition of Kitenge Fashion Fest happened last Saturday, May 6th at the prestigious Noble Hotel, Eldoret. The first edition (happened in 2015) was a huge hit and attracted a host of distinguished guests including international artist Stella Mwangi. It’s no wonder, all eyes were at this year’s event, with many wondering if it will live up to the hype.
If you didn’t have the chance to attend the event, here is how Kitenge Fashion Fest II went down;
A Well Planned and Executed Event
The main organizers of the fashion show were E254 Entertainment, a company owned by Mc Nick who partnered with Kenya Red Cross to host an exciting show themed; Fashion for Humanitarianism.
Top fashion designers, runway models and entertainers were challenged to fuse urban and culture to showcase their talents to a captivating audience with the proceeds going to Red Cross Disaster Mitigation Kitty.
Other partners were Paul’s Bakery, Swagg Sound and Walawi records.
Promoting Local Talent
Kitenge Fashion Fest II was graced by some of the best designers in the Kenyan fashion industry who included Mjukuu, Emperor House of Fashion, Albertina, Dette Oppara, Sintamei, Abu designs, Pamba House of Fashion and Msafi among others.
The designers had a chance a showcase their best cuts which featured the kitenge fabric and also articles of clothing in contemporary modern designs.
There is no fashion show without runway models. E254 Entertainment did a commendable job to put together a group of models who had incredible confidence as they dazzled the audience with their catwalk routines. Among the models who took to the runway included;

A Night to Remember
The fashion event attracted a lot of fashion enthusiasts as well as high influential personalities, sportsmen and fashion icons.
The V.I.P guests were treated to a wonderful cocktail courtesy of the Noble Hotel. There was free giveaways courtesy of itel mobile company for lucky winners in the event. If that’s not all, there was also electrifying performances from Jana the band, Vaccine, Frenky and comedian Kiptabut.
Kitenge Fashion Fest II will go down as a night to remember for all attendees and organizers alike. The hosts for the night Mc Nick and Mc Kento alongside DJ Sule and DJ Nova engaged the crowd and managed to maintain an electric ambience throughout the event.
