When you’ve had a long toxic and hectic day in the office, all you want to do is just chill and unwind before turning in for the night. If you are looking to spend a couple more hours out and also beat the crazy traffic in town, we have some very cool hangout joints in Eldoret you should add to your to-do.
The places listed below, provide a homey vibe for real relaxation as you indulge in some fine dining, cold drinks and conversations with friends.

The Well Irish Pub and Restaurant
Location: 1st Floor, Saito Centre, Elijah Cheruiyot Street, Eldoret.
The Well is a great escape from the busy work life. The decor setup and lighting makes you feel comfortable and happy. Music is never too loud and their bar offers a wide selection of local and international drinks. If you want some pub grubs, they have tasteful food servings. Whether you need some pork chops, Irish lamb stew or fish ‘n chips their menu has plenty of options.
Happy hour at the Well is from 5PM – 7PM, Monday through Thursday. Check it out for a real “pub” atmosphere and experience.
Black Bamboo Lounge
Location: Kenyatta avenue, Eldoret
If you want to let loose after work then turn up at Black Bamboo lounge. This joint has a nice serene lounge setting and great music to get down to. It is actually hard to talk about anything business related when you are chilling at this joint.
Also, with its location being in the middle of the CBD, you have quick access to other clubs; should you decide to extend through the night. Aside from drinks and music, what you should definitely try out at Bamboo is their chicken. It’s surprisingly good!
Members Premier Restaurant
Location: Oginga Odinga street, Eldoret
Prefer a silky smooth and perfectly balanced flavored hot cup of coffee to a pinpoint bubbly and chilled beer? Don’t fret, we care about you too!
Members Premier Restaurant is a state of the art coffee house in Eldoret that offers one of the best brewed coffee in town. Walk in to this place anytime after 5pm and you’ll find lots of Eldoretians shooting the breeze and having a good time.
When you want to hangout with office colleagues or team members after work hours bonding sesh, then, check out Members Premeir on Oginga Ondinga street.
64 Resort and Sporting Club
Location: Plateau Road – off Kapsabet Road, Eldoret
Cocktails, exquisite food, beer and pool games are some of the distinct things that make up a perfect after work hangout. That’s precisely what 64 Resort and Sporting Club offers. Located just outside Eldoret CBD, there’s enough of parking space and a calm atmosphere for you to kick it, chill and forget about the deadlines and unfinished projects.
64 Resort is an ideal hangout in Eldoret to have some private conversations, have a quick meetup or dinner date.
The Big Five Motel
Location: Nandi Rd, Eldoret, Kenya
The little known Big Five Motel is an absolute gem for pizza and beer when you are off the clock. This place can be described with the cliche phrase,”home away from home.” It is a two storey residential property turned into a motel. The ground floor has a nicely set up bar and an extra lounge area is on the upper floor. Just outside are bandas where you can chill with friends.
This a place where you can get in to a pint or two away from the hustle and bustle of town.
Rumours Bar and Lounge
Location: Off B54, Eldoret, Kenya (at Poa Place)
In need of more grit? Probably have one too many, shake a leg without the worry of “getting seen”… then check into Rumours any day after 5pm. Rumours is inside Poa Place, it’s a very hyped bar/lounge with its patrons being mostly the local business expats.
Friday evenings are especially the most turned up times. In fact they have a live music mix session dubbed “after work meet up”
