It is yet again another Easter holiday, and as we reflect on the Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, we might as well spice the mood with movies that match the theme of the season. On my Movie list, I have Four fantastic movies that will do just that and much more for you…
Risen
From the Death and Resurrection story in the Bible, this movie is about a Roman military tribune Clavius, who remains set in his ways after serving 25 years in the army. He arrives at a crossroad when he’s tasked to investigate the mystery of what happened to Jesus following the Crucifixion. Accompanied by trusted aide Lucius, his quest to disprove rumors of a risen Messiah makes him question his beliefs and spirituality. As his journey takes him to places never dreamed of, Clavius discovers the truth that he’s been seeking.
Ice Age- The Great Egg-Scapade- Easter Special
Sid takes a job as an egg nanny but is unaware an old enemy has plans of his own. The shenanigans lead to the first egg hunt and creation of popular Easter traditions of the Easter Eggs and Easter Bunnies. Â Â It is a 30-minute long bundle of excitement that features voices of Ray Romano (Manny) Queen Latifah (Ellie) Josh Leguizamo (Sid) and many others.
The Young Messiah
Mary, Joseph and 7-year-old Jesus start on a journey from Egypt to Nazareth after the young boy miraculously resurrects someone. When King Herod commands that the child, be killed, Roman centurion Severus (Sean Bean) starts to pursue the family across the desert. As Mary and Joseph worry about his safety, Jesus’ natural curiosity allows him to understand more about the world and his remarkable powers.
Kung Fu Panda 3
This is a must watch. A living large and loving life, Po (Jack Black) realizes that he has a lot to learn if he’s going to fulfill the next challenge from his beloved instructor (Dustin Hoffman). After reuniting with his long-lost father (Bryan Cranston), Po must transition from student to teacher and train a group of fun-loving, clumsy pandas to become martial-arts fighters. Together, the kung-fu brethren unite to take on the evil Kai (J.K. Simmons), a supernatural warrior who becomes stronger with each battle.
