The 1st of August will see Eldoret Town add another channel to it’s short list of channels that broadcast from the Town. CMTV is set to be the first urban contemporary TV channel in Eldoret Town.
From the 15th of July, CMTV has been running a test broadcast on Star times 601, GOTv 840 and on Pang network, it is a free to air channel meaning that anyone with a functioning free to air decoder or a digital Tv can watch this channel.  The CMTV signal can be received from as far as 100 kilometers from Eldoret town. [adrotate banner=”5″]

Eldoret Town has been for many years accustomed to religious content on their locally broadcasting Television and Radio stations. The TV Stations Sayare TV, BHB TV and Daystar TV have served the media function in the town. However, being Christian channels they are limited to religious based content. They also run the risk of not receiving advertisement revenue from business owners who subscribe to other religious beliefs  such as Muslims and the Hindu who have a huge stake in the business community of Eldoret town.
CMTV comes as a welcomed break for people who prefer contemporary material on television.
