It was around 3 in the AM when I called a dejected Khaligraph who had flown all the way from Nairobi for a show at Eldoret Club 411 . Speaking from StarBucks he explained that he wasn’t going to be performing at the event because the promoter had not honored his end of the bargain.
Later on Khaligraph Jones released a Video on Instagram apologizing to his Eldoret fans for not being able to perform at Club 411 as expected and hopes to come back and make up for the lost time.
Word has it that Khaligraph had been paid half the amount and that he was to be paid the remaining amount before he hit the stage, but that wasn’t to be. The promoter on his side had not raised enough money from ticket sales to pay Khaligraph.
Purportedly, Risper Faith the socialite was to show up for the event. Her Instagram feed last placed her at Kenya Airways Business class lounge. Nowhere near Eldoret.
A fortnight ago the Everlast crew put up a great show at the same Club 411 only for the promoter to duck with their balance of 64 thousand Kenyan shillings. Everlast had decided to pursue the matter legally but halted as the promoter chose to settle the matter out of court.
