
The next 8 to 14 days starting from the 20 July 2016 will see interruption of internet connectivity for internet users reliant on TEAMs Undersea Cable. (The EAST AFRICAN MARINE SYSTEM). The interruption is due to the expansion of the United Arab Emirates Port at Fujira where the TEAMS cable connects Kenya to the international network.
Internet Service Providers to be affected include Safaricom, Liquid Telecom Kenya,  Telkom Kenya, Wananchi Telecom, Jamii Telecom, Access Kenya Group and Bandwidth & Cloud Services GroupÂ
To avoid a total shutdown of the internet, telecommunication companies that solely rely on TEAMs Undersea cable will have to find alternative connection for its customers. However, customers are likely to experience slow and or unreliable connection because of bandwidth constraints that come about as a result of high traffic on the other cable systems.
