“As an incentive to all past HELB loan beneficiaries, I hereby grant a 100% penalty waiver to all defaulters who will repay their loans in one lump sum between today (3rd May, 2018) and 30th June, 2018”
This was the statement issued by Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed on 3rd May, 2018. This means that if you are a Helb Loan defaulter but are able to pay up the principal and interest owed to Helb. You will be waived all penalties accrued. This reprieve however, will last only for two months.
